Three wounded in cracker attack on TV channel office in Lahore


LAHORE: Three people were injured as unknown persons hurled a cracker outside the office of a private TV channel here on Tuesday, prompting police to issue a red alert in the provincial capital, ARY News reported.
According to details, unknown persons lobbed a cracker outside the office of Din News, situated in Lahore’s Gulberg area, along with a threat letter.
“Along with government and security agencies, media has also been obstructing the implementation of Shariah in the country,” read the letter.
“As long as, the media does not quit this agenda, attacks will be continued against it.”
The blast injured two policemen and a worker, who were immediately shifted to a hospital.
Meanwhile, Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and sought a report from IG Punjab.
Following the incident, Lahore Police issued a red alert and tightened security and increased snap checking in all areas.
