Balochistan: Zehri to take oath of CM today, Malik Baloch quits


QUETTA: Nawab Sanaullah Zehri will take oath as the new chief minister of Balochistan today as incumbent Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch resigned from his office yesterday, ARY News reported on Thursday.
Malik Baloch under Murree agreement has tendered his resignation to the Governor of Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif earlier decided to elevate Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, the provincial president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), as the next chief minister of Balochistan for the remaining tenure of the provincial government.
The PML-N, PkMAP and National Party (NP) had sign a power sharing deal-Murree agreement on June 4, 2013.
As per the agreement, the NP received chief minister position for a two and a half year term and a share in the cabinet, while the PkMAP got the office of governor and ministries.
